How to Prepare for Boob Tape Application

Finally, you can wear the sequined backless dress of your dreams without the constant fear of a nip slip. Before applying boob tape, first, attempt a test patch. A patch test will allow you to understand the material's composition and stickiness to help you understand the correct application technique for you.

After attempting a patch test, second, clean and dry your skin to prevent any slippage as you dance the night away.

Third, apply the boob tape adhesive! Continue reading to learn the correct application technique for each desired result.

Boob Tape Application Tip #1:  Remove the adhesive as you go rather than all at once. Working  with a small section versus a long strip ensures that you don’t accidentally apply the sticky tape in the wrong place!

How to Apply Boob Tape for a Low-Cut Top

You may ask, how can my boobs remain perky in a low-cut top without a bra supporting them? Don’t worry; boob tape’s got you covered. We recommend NUE boob tape because it is all-inclusive, one-size-fits-all, sweatproof, waterproof, and recommended by women worldwide.

  1. Pick up one boob and position it in the desired location.
  2. Cut a strip of tape long enough to run from the underarm to the nipple. Place the strip horizontally under your breast (right where a bra band would typically lie).
  3. Continue holding the (singular) boob, and apply tape horizontally upwards along the bustline.
  4. Add a vertical strip stretching from the base of the breast to over the shoulder. Apply as many strips as needed for the desired support.
  5. Repeat the previous steps for boob #2. When complete, you’ll have two perky boobs without any connection.

How to Apply Boob Tape for a Strapless Top

There is little to nothing more irritating than awkwardly adjusting your strapless bra that’s falling down in the middle of a party! Say no more to the awkward shimmy and allow boob tape to save the day!

  1. Cut a strip of boob tape long enough to run from one armpit to the other.
  2. Lean forward and apply the tape along the base of your chest (where your bra band typically lies).
  3. Continue leaning forward and apply strips from bottom to top; stop taping when only your desired cleavage is visible.

How to Apply Boob Tape for a Backless Dress

For a backless dress where the side boob can be concealed, follow the same process as that for a strapless top. If side boob is desired, follow the steps below:

  1. Cut a strip of boob tape that will reach from the base of the breast to the shoulder (adjust the length to dress style).
  2. Place the tape vertically from the base to the tip of the breast.
  3. Add additional layers of tape to add support!

Boob Tape Tip #2: Only apply boob tape where your clothing will cover. It defeats the purpose if your boob tape peaks out from underneath your top. Try on your outfit before applying boob tape, and map out the desired area for application to avoid this issue!

How to Apply Boob Tape for Cleavage

Boob tape can create cleavage for even the smallest chests. Depending on the style of clothing, you can create the voluptuous cleavage of your dreams!

  1. Begin with one boob, and cut a strip that will extend diagonally across the breast.
  2. Place the tape while pulling the breast inward. Apply as many strips as needed to create as much cleavage as you desire.
  3. Repeat with the other boob.
  4. If the neckline of your clothing allows, add a few horizontal strips to push the two boobs together, creating cleavage across your chest.

How to Remove Boob Tape

Thankfully, removing boob tape is nothing like ripping off a band aid. When boob tape is removed correctly, it will be completely pain-free!

Follow these three steps to remove boob tape with ease:

  1. Saturate the boob tape with oil. Body oil, baby oil, or coconut oil will do the trick! Allow the oil to soak into the tape for 15 minutes.
  2. Remove the tape slowly. If any area is difficult to remove, apply more oil.
  3. After all the tape is removed, use a cotton pad with oil to remove any residue from your skin!

Boob Tape Tip #3: Apply pasties (nipple covers) underneath the boob tape to aid in a pain-free removal process!

This is not like your usual tape-removing process. There shouldn't be lots of tugging or lots of adhesive being stuck to your body. Make sure to check with the instructions in case it suggests oil removal. Lather up your chest in that oil, and it should slide off fairly easily. Contrary to popular belief, jumping in the shower and taking it off in there is actually worse for your skin. Since it's typically made to be sweatproof, removing it when your skin is not damp is better.
